Jon Stewart, Liberalism, and Hypocrisy

First and foremost, I must express my new-found liking to the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Now that’s entertaining fake news, about “real” news (yes, the quotations are necessary).

Secondly, what is up with Fox? (the bit about them criticizing Obama really got to me – call him what you may, but he’s the President for Christ’s sake).

Now let’s get this straight, I’m all for equality in America, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the world is. I, as a partial liberal (it’s complicated), am entirely fine with it, since the golden rule, for every liberal in general, SHOULD be to respect different opinions and point-of-views (Hence the ‘equality’ part), no matter how nasty human beings can be. With that said, here is my outcome of the funny eight minute segment:

Fox’s interpretation of liberalism is as much of a fail as Miley Cyrus’s performance on the VMA’s.

No bueno.

I understand that Jon Stewart is a comedian and his sole purpose is to, well, be a comedian, but the dude was actually on to something. His exposure of Fox and their new-found “liberalism” pretty much sums up how some (or most) liberals are. Some of us go on and on about equality, about freedom, yet unknowingly bash the next person for expressing that same equality and freedom.

Did someone say, HYPOCRISY? Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! (corny I know… wait, why do I keep using parenthesis? ARGH).

But anyway, whether that was Jon’s point or not, it’s what I understood and took from watching this video… Well, that’s all for now. Until next time, earthlings.
